The Christine Jessop Story
On Oct 3. 1984 Christine Jessop went missing. Three months later her body was found. It would be another 35 years until the mystery was “solved.” For the first time, Christine’s family speaks about her disappearance and the case that captivated Canada. A story of corrupt policing, revolutionary forensics, and a family forced to go through the unthinkable.

The Holy Hustle
Holy Hustle follows Marcus, an ambitious interim pastor aiming for permanent leadership in his church, and Harmony, a savvy, cam-model-turned-psychology student who monetizes confession-style roleplay online. When Marcus discovers his parishioners are among her clientele, he confronts her, only to be challenged with a counter-offer: therapy sessions for her thesis in exchange for leaving his flock alone.
As their sessions progress, secrets unravel—Harmony hides her scholarly ambitions behind a provocative persona, while Marcus battles church corruption, personal doubt, and a performative engagement to secure his position. Their sessions evolve into soul-searching debates on sin, self-worth, and the transactional nature of modern faith.
Witty, biting, and ultimately hopeful, Holy Hustle strips back religious facades and explores what it means to lead, believe, and love—without losing your soul.
Directed by Marvin Towns Jr. for BET / Paramount

Sunset Superman
2024 indie action comedy from writer/director Jason Krawczyk of He Never Died fame, which I did a review on that one a few years ago, if you wanted to check it out. They did have to change the name of it to Don't Mess With Grandma, even though the main character calls her “Granna”, but that might be because Dio would only let them use the song during one of the big fight scenes and not the title of the film.
In this story, a man named Jasper goes to see his grandma at her badass house in the middle of nowhere that has been staked out by a gang of thieves that want to steal from her house. It turns out Jasper is an ex-army ranger and you bet your ass he ain't putting up with that shit, so this one man army teaches them a lesson!

Abhorant
David Scott’s Abhorrent makes me grateful that I don’t have a basement. The female protagonist in this short film does, though, and there she discovers something about her husband that the audience already knows about him just by looking at him. That said, there’s some competent and crisp film making here.

Fugue
Tomas Street’s lean and pulpy crime-thriller isn’t lacking for sex, violence, and seedy characters. Not one of this cast of wretches has a sentimental bone in their body. If you enjoy sordid crime capers, then you’re in luck because Fugue goes to some dark places. With cinematographer James Griffith’s beautifully-lit sets and the slick production design, you can really feel the piss and vinegar coursing through the film’s veins. Fugue has a serious mean streak.
Backpackers
In an attempt to get over a serious case of cold feet, Backpackers finds recently engaged Ryan (Noah Reid, Titanic) and Beth (Meghan Heffern, Almost Heroes) embarking on separate European adventures leading up to their wedding. While traveling they are free to act single, adopting the mantra "what happens in Europe, stays in Europe." But hours into Ryan's adventure with his party animal and womanizing best friend Brandon (Dillon Casey, Nikita), he realizes he's made a huge mistake and sets off in search of her. The only problem is he has no idea where she could be - they never exchanged itineraries. This marks the start of a wild adventure that takes the duo to the Amalfi coast, Rome, Berlin, Prague and Paris as they search for Beth, try to avoid an annoying Aussie, dodge a homicidal maniac and fit in a little action on the way.
The Masked Saint
"The Masked Saint" is based on a true story about one pastor's mission to help his community by risking his identity and returns to his former life as a wrestler. The triumphant story follows one man's journey and struggle between helping others and the consequences he faces doing this.
